The lecture(s) had several terms that parallel in our reading:

“New media literacy” – how important programming is to media

Cyber cultures

Analog to digital conversion and vice versa

I wondered what others thought about the statement: “Womb envy – men imagines computers/interface as being “like children” birth -  which is why “men” created Cyborgs – part analog and digital (human being)

As they played, and I listened to the movie clips, I was intrigued by the idea of Cyberspace as “Cartesian” – logical; no gravity in the cyber world. 

Otherwise, I was lost.  Wish there had been “video” as well.  Wonder why?

Well, I have no idea what a blog is all about. 

Since I’m not sure what is meant by computer technology (network technology), print, visual/design, I guess that answers the question of my literacy (or lack of) in this subject matter.

Never blogged before and don’t even know what its purpose is. 

Don’t have a myspace page. I like the face-to-face learning and so I’m taking this course to hopefully prepare me for my teaching experience in the on-line arena or I guess distance learning. 

About me: I teach for SAIL at CSUSB.  I teach all of the Social/Behavioral courses that students generally have difficulty with (don’t pass).  For instance, I teach the adjunct this quarter for History 200, Psy 100, SSCI 316, PSCI 203.  I sit in the content courses and work with the professors as well as take notes etc.  Then, I go back and teach my adjunct students study strategies, work with them on understanding the material through lecture note activities and reviews, practice quizzes, games etc. etc.  I love it and this is my 2nd full year. 

As a graduate student, well I hope my career at CSUSB ends this quarter.  My 3rd chapter is in review by my committee; my thesis chair is soon to be on sabatical and we’re hoping that I’m in “ruler” format review with Grad Office by May 9th!  Its been a long journey but an exciting one.  And, I still love my thesis topic. 

I really thought some of your blogs were spectacular; but, here is my “plain jane”.
